“Bury Your Gaze” is Jackson Orion Pearce’ (Jax) graduation movie, a campy slasher, set during the 80s.
During shooting, I was part of a duo sound team recording on set. Being a part of the crew during filming also helped me get a clearer sense and understanding of the characters and scenes and which emotions the music should bring up. I deeply appreciated the workflow this created.
Afterwards, I was the sole composer and producer of the score for the entire film and also aided in recording foley as well as ADR. While producing, Jax and I regularly exchanged ideas and visions for the music and mood, allowing me to live out my own creativity while also bringing his concepts to life.
Theme for the introduction to a joyful campfire amongst friends, highly inspired by bands such as “The Cure”
“Monster Theme”, expanded to play during the last part, the dramatic climax, of the movie
“Death Theme” of the first characters death
Full outro song demo, chorus starting around 1:27; the lyrics present an intricate insight to the characters’ thoughts and feelings and the journey they have been on
